David is a founder with a passion for building communities and businesses that connect people and create opportunities.

He’s the founder of Data Idols, a recruitment company that specialises in helping data professionals find roles they love – and helping companies build high-performing teams without the usual recruitment nonsense. With a focus on data scientists, analysts, engineers and the wider data space, Data Idols takes a straight-talking, community-first approach.

He also started the Data Science Festival, now one of the UK’s largest data communities. Through free events, meetups and conferences, the Festival brings together people from across the industry – from early careers to CDOs – all with a focus on learning, collaboration and proper community.

Outside the data world, he runs Lovat Bank, a unique coworking and creative space in a restored Victorian building, home to a mix of freelancers, small businesses and practitioners.

Most recently, he launched Founders500, a growing community of creative founders across the UK. Through monthly meetups, festivals and shared resources, the aim is to create a space where ideas are exchanged, businesses grow, and founders feel genuinely supported.

Across all his projects, the thread is the same – creating spaces (both online and off) where people connect, share ideas, and move things forward.
